Fitting guide

Isolate the battery

Remove the pack, or disconnect it at the main connector. Wait a minute for the controller capacitors to drain before you touch anything.

Find the battery-to-controller run

Two heavy conductors, usually red and black, running from the pack to the controller. That pair is where the immobiliser goes.

Fit inline

Use the matching pigtail from the loom kit, or crimp directly. Positive through the unit, negative straight through. The unit is marked IN and OUT and will not work back to front.

Mount and seal

Bracket it somewhere awkward to reach, cable-tie the slack, and check the lid seals are seated before the first ride.

Pair the fobs

Hold the pairing button until the LED blinks twice, then press the fob button. Repeat for each fob. Up to eight.

If you are not confident identifying the battery pair, stop and let a bike shop do it. A shorted pack is a fire, not an inconvenience.
02

Will it fit my bike?

Almost certainly. The immobiliser is voltage-agnostic across the usual ebike range and does not care who made your motor.

Works withAny 24–60 V DC system with an accessible battery-to-controller run.
Tested onBafang M400/M500, Shimano STEPS E6100, Bosch Active/Performance, Yamaha PW-X, generic hub kits.
Check firstSealed proprietary looms with no serviceable connector, and bikes under warranty where cutting the loom would void it.
Not suitableSystems above 60 V, and anything where the controller is potted into the motor housing.

Not sure? Send us your bike model and we will tell you honestly, including if the answer is no.

04

Warranty

Three years from delivery, covering the unit, the fobs and the batteries inside them. We repair or replace, our choice, and we pay postage both ways.

It does not cover crash damage, water ingress through a lid you have left unsealed, or a unit that has been opened and rewired beyond the documented install. Opening it to look inside is fine — that is rather the point.

About Verstad

We build one thing properly rather than five things adequately. The case is clear because the design holds up to being looked at, the specification sheet is complete because a half-sheet is a way of hiding something, and the warranty covers the fob batteries because pretending consumables are not part of the product is a way of shifting cost onto you.

Designed and assembled in the UK.

06

Privacy

We collect what an order needs: your name, address, email and, if you give it, a phone number for the courier. We keep it for as long as the tax rules require and no longer.

No third-party analytics, no advertising pixels, no tracking cookies. Your basket is stored in your own browser and never leaves it until you place an order. Fonts are served from this domain, not from Google.

Email privacy@verstad.example for a copy or deletion of your data.

07

Terms

Prices include UK VAT. An order is accepted when we dispatch it, not when you place it; if we have mispriced something we will tell you and refund you rather than quietly cancel.

The immobiliser is a deterrent, not a guarantee. It does not insure your bike and we do not claim it makes theft impossible. Use a decent chain as well.

Nothing here affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
